The group and Foxconn/Hon Hai Technology Group — based in Taiwan, and one of the world’s largest manufacturer of cell phone and computer components — on Tuesday announced that the GreenCert system will be available in Taiwan with the aim of distributing the calculation and verification software system throughout the Asia Pacific region.

In addition to calculating carbon emissions from manufacturing plants, GreenCert provides instant data analysis and test reports that allow customers to use it as a base for trading carbon credits.

A software system called GreenCert — developed partly by a subsidiary of Evergreen Energy Inc. to measure and verify greenhouse gas emissions from industrial plants — was launched Wednesday in Asia.

Also in the partnership to develop the system was IBM (NYSE: IBM), based in Armonk, N.Y., and Enterprise Information Management Inc. (EIM), an international information management company based in Australia with an office in Colorado Springs.
